ChildLine is proud to be the beneficiary of this year's Blue Peter appeal.

This year's Blue Peter appeal raised £330,000 in the first 2 months. These much needed funds helped ChildLine to maintain and improve the support services they offer children in the UK.

Supported by regular slots on the TV show, the 2005 Blue Peter appeal drew all its resources from a website designed and built by Ichameleon.

Ichameleon developed a child-friendly public-facing website that can be updated using our own powerful Content Management System, Treeline. We recognised that ChildLine would struggle to manage the thousands of donations that arose as a result of the appeal. So we developed and integrated a comprehensive courier system, specifically built to streamline approval and acceptance of donations, and to manage collections across the UK.

Features of the solution include:

• Non-technical staff can create web pages, including complex formatting, using our own Treeline Content Management System.
• Donations managed through the integrated courier-management system, which delivers details of all collections direct to couriers across the UK.
• Statistical reporting of web traffic and donations are available to administrators at the touch of a button.

The site design is entirely appropriate to the audience with bright, contemporary characters encouraging children and explaining to them how they can take part. Highly interactive room sets add fun to the site but also illustrate where "treasure" might be found in a typical home.
