New client: Apostleship of the Sea
27 July 2005
Ichameleon are delighted to announce a new client, Apostleship of the Sea.
A registered international charity and arm of The Vatican, Apostleship of the Sea minister to itinerant workers in the world's merchant navy fleets, and the families and communities from which they are drawn.
Ichameleon are delighted to have been selected to work with this prestigious charity, and to assist them in their work.
The project will encompass development of a website that not only communicates The Apostleship's message to the world, but encourages and facilitates a dialogue with the ship-board congregation. This requires the site to work not only on standard web-browsers, but also on the specialist ocean-going web connection service Immarsat.
In addition to the public website there will be microsites for each chaplaincy and port in which The Apostleship works, currently in around 100 countries. There will also be a secure Extranet where chaplains and contributors can exchange ideas, advice and pastoral information. The entire group of sites and microsites is powered by Ichameleon's Content Management System, Treeline, and will be launched in November 2005.
